I think what makes a good pet is an animal that has some of the following qualities:
• Friendly
• Interesting

• Care is affordable.
As you can see, this doesn’t mean only dogs or cats! Some people raise insects, some have terrariums with lizards and snakes. If you have a large parrot, the care might be difficult […]

Before you bring your new fish home, be sure you investigate through either informative goldfish websites or books the basics of their care.
Did you know that the traditional fish bowl design doesn’t allow for enough oxygen exchange even for goldfish? I say “even” because goldfish are used to living in somewhat stagnant water and are […]

Pets are extremely sensitive to your emotions and physical signs. Have you noticed how Fred the collie gets agitated when you are making plans for vacation? • Birds that lay a large clutch, then cover them and start a new clutch
• Trying to breed birds that are too young

• […]

Have you ever wondered why cats knead their paws on you when they’re content? It’s a response they developed when nursing as new born kittens, to speed the flow of milk from their mothers. It’s a pleasurable activity that will stay with them for their whole life.
Kittens are born with their eyes shut, and shouldn’t […]

There are a few basic things to be aware of if you want to adopt a pet bird. These may be obvious, but sometimes the simple things are the things that get overlooked!
• Birds should not have bald spots (May be a diseased bird or a feather- plucker)
• Make sure area around the vent is […]

Ferrets are really sleepy heads. Maybe it’s because they have so much energy and have to nap a lot, or perhaps they’re just naturally lazy. In fact, they sleep so heavily that it can take quite a bit of prodding and poking to get them to wake up.
This is probably why they need a safe […]
