It’s not everyone who wants to share his or her home with an affectionate dog or cat. Some people prefer more unusual animals as pets, even snakes, lizards or insects!

Of course no one should attempt to keep a reptile or an amphibian for a pet unless they’re prepared to meet their very distinct environmental and food requirements. For one thing, they cannot regulate their own body temperature so heat must be provided.

And if the room is too cold it definitely affects the animal’s metabolism. It takes some study and preparation to get ready to share your home with one of these creatures, but so worthwhile if you want to expand your pet horizons.
